5 min from Havelock
Cullen Point Track is located a short distance from Havelock. At Havelock, turn onto Queen Charlotte Drive, and follow it as it winds up the hillside. As the road makes a hairpin turn into Mahau Sound, you will see the signposted car park on the seaward side of the road indicating the track start.
In a clockwise direction from the car park, the track descends the hillside toward the shoreline. The surrounding bush comprises of remnant beech and ferns. It then sidles along the coast around Cullen Point to the Mahau Sound side, where the bush is mainly regenerating kanuka, then climbs steadily back to the car park. Slips and openings in the bush allow views to the sound.
Another short out-and-back track heads along the crest of the ridge that leads to Cullen Point. A lookout provides views of Pelorus Sound and Havelock.
