Short Walks

Short walks are defined as taking 3 hours or less to complete, not including the time it takes to get there. Times are based on walking; runners will likely be much quicker. Some tracks are relatively quick to complete on their own, but their location requires that you access them via other tracks (e.g. Black Diamond Ridge, Wooded Peak), which turns them into day walks. Huts provide the option to stay overnight on some tracks (e.g. Mt Arthur Hut and Hacket Hut), and therefore these are classed as both a short walk and a multi-day trip.
